Moonen expands Caribbean range with M/Y Monito

Dutch shipyard Moonen has unveiled a new design for its Caribbean yacht range, and its largest yacht so far, the 49m Monito.

Having been developed as a response to requests for a larger Caribbean yacht under 500GT, Moonen describes fast-displacement yacht Monito as providing “a standard of comfort and quality unrivalled in its price range and gross tonnage level.” Moonen is offering potential owners the option to partner with an interior designer of their choice, in order to create a completely custom design.

Her “impressive” interior has 60m² squared set aside for a full-beam main-deck master bedroom, including two bathrooms, a walk-in closet and private study. The lower deck then features for VIP cabins or five guest cabins, along with a captain’s cabin on the bridge deck and eight crew cabins on the lower deck.

Alternative accommodation layouts offered include six suites for 12 guests, and six cabins for 11 crewmembers. Whichever layout the owner chooses, both allow the owner optimum levels of privacy, with the addition of dedicated crew areas and stairs, along with a food lift running between the main and bridge decks.

According to Moonen, Monito features an “enhanced length principle concept and efficient round bilge hull”, built from high tensile steel. This enables her to reach a top speed of 18.5 knots, and gives a transatlantic range of 3900m at 11 knots when carrying only 55,000 litres of fuel.

Other interior options include a fully customised stern area for a beach club, several arrangement options for the swim platform, and a multifunctional transom that can be transformed into a spa, gym or other relaxation space.

Moonen said, “Our R&D wizards are working on ways to use the tender bay as a saltwater pool. Add in the sun deck and Monito has 350m² of exterior teak deck areas, plus the option to install four external bars.”
