Motion Code: Blue releases Sea Palace Selazzio 95

Austrian-based yacht design studio Motion Code: Blue has developed a 95m yacht concept in cooperation with ICON Yachts, named Selazzio 95 Sea Palace.

The studio has recently completed several projects, both production and custom yachts, which are currently under construction and has already worked for many yards in Asia, Europe and the USA.

Current projects for Motion Code: Blue includes the exterior and interior design of a 65m motor yacht named H2, which will be the world’s first energy autonomous superyacht as well as the development of the world’s first 115m private submarine-superyacht hybrid Migaloo.

After seeing references of Motion Code: Blue on their social media and webpage, ICON Yachts was quickly interested in the studios’ modern and innovative approach to yacht design and soon after the first meeting, both companies decided to develop a modern shaped 95m explorer yacht.

Following the trend of explorer yachts with ample outdoor deck space, the studio has come up with many innovative ideas to take this type of yacht to a new level. The result, a new type of explorer yacht called sea palace floating mansion.

Selazzio 95 is a based on existing 95m hull platform of ICON Yachts, but with its stunning beam of 22m the yacht sets new standards in terms of space.

A vertical stem design as well as concave and convex hull surfaces generates a modern appearance to the hull. A very characteristic and dominant arch begins at the fore deck and stretches over the superstructure back to the aft deck and frames the massive stern section of the yacht. This design element is the most eye-catching feature of the profile view and enhances the strong and masculine appearance of the exterior design.

One main feature of the yacht is the ‘beach house’, a three-floor beach club and spa area at the stern section of the yacht. A large jacuzzi with a waterfall, two vertical gardens, a bar and a huge spa area including saunas and a hamman are located at the lower deck level of this structure.

On the main deck level, the beach house hosts a 6m by 3m pool, surrounded by a ring-shaped video wall. Two wide staircases give access to this formal entrance area. The adjacent main deck beach club is defined as a formal lounge with plenty of space and several bar areas. The third level of the beach house is a sun deck with access to the pool, where the bottom of the pool doubles as a helipad.

A raised balcony called “SPINE” connects the beach house sun deck with the upper deck spa area 3m above the main deck.

Two seafront promenades on each hull side generate a U-shaped walkway around the yacht. Two side hatches can be opened to launch the tenders and toys of Selazzio 95. A 12m tender as well as a private submarine can be stored in the large tender bays.

The bow section is reserved for the owner’s privacy; a wide bow terrace is located directly in front of the huge split-level owner’s suite.

Above, the wide bridge with its characteristic overhangs on each side guarantees the best sights and ergonomics for crew and captain. The rear part of this deck hosts a large connectable indoor and outdoor dining area including a vast rear balcony.

As for the technical components and the propulsion system, both the design studio and its partner ICON Yachts are open to any owner’s preferences.

The name Selazzio enhances the combination of low speed and architectural and organically shaped exterior design, resulting in the name which is a combination of the word ‘sea’ and ‘palazzo’, the Italian term for palace. The wide and elegant interior design features columns and spherical shapes, which is highly inspired by representative architecture and palaces.
