Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
The Ferretti Group is currently constructing the Navetta 42 at Yachts Miami Beach.
The design of the yacht is the result of a collaboration between Studio Zuccon International Project, Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee, and the Group’s Engineering Department. At 42m in length, she is the biggest semi-displacement hull ever built by Custom Line.
The new superyacht features four fully customizable decks, offering plenty of space for the owner and guests. She also includes a sliding glass door leading to an interior dining area.
According to the yard, the layout of the new yacht "will ensure the most efficient organization of on board flows", offering privacy to the owner and the guests, and "a great freedom of movement for the captain and the crew."
The main deck contains a very large suite reserved for the owner, who can choose between four VIP suites or five standard en-suite cabins to accommodate guests. This is thanks to the versatile layout of the lower deck. The aft area is set aside for the large sea-level beach club which offers fun and relaxation, and a garage opens out onto the sea to launch tenders and water toys.
The Ferretti Group anticipates that the Navetta 42 will exceed 3,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.
Ferretti Group, the Italy-based holding behind brands such as Riva, Pershing and Ferretti itself, has indicated it made €14,1 million in net profit in 2016, making it the first year since the 2008 financial crisis in which the group posted a profit.
