Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
Hot on the heels of an innovation that saw the design and production of the world’s only fully approved wireless BNWAS system, the team at Net-Logic have created a solution that uses the world renowned and respected Motorola Mototrbo range of digital radio’s to link with the yachts key electronic systems.
VesselWatch as it is known, is a multifunctional safety and communication system. It reduces the number of devices crew have to carry, whilst dramatically increasing the features available to that crewmember with unparalleled security. This solution brings a new era to the way that radio communications are looked upon, and used.
The flexibility of VesselWatch is shown through its ability to incorporate devices that allow engine room alarms, fire alarms along with alerts to be transmitted via SMS message to the crew member.
The crew to crew messaging or intelligent stewardess call system interacts with crew member’s digital radio, giving everyone on board, from crew to guests, real time secure access to the crew on any device using the IOS or Android operating systems.
VesselWatch is versatile, reliable and extremely secure. The solution utilises an advanced 40Bit rolling encryption ensuring voice, data and GPS are hidden to all but the yachts users.
Matthew Wight, technical director commented,“The inbuilt security of VesselWatch is virtually impenetrable. The performance range on both the UHF and VHF bands is fantastic and the sound is crystal clear”.
This represents only a tiny part of its overall appeal; it can interact with numerous yacht systems such as door locks, lights, telephone systems, and alarms. Net-Logic have identified over 30 functions that the system can handle to date; with the list getting longer through their consultation with Yacht crew and officers, and key marine personnel.
VesselWatch launches this month officially at MYS and demonstrations will be taking place at Monaco Yacht Show
