The innovative Trim Tabs Control System AHD-TCS is now available with an optional inclination sensor. When cruising, the system’s electronics unit automatically compensates for potential slant caused by an unbalanced load, crosswinds, or sea currents. The speed-dependent automatic control improves the yacht’s handling and achieves fuel savings of up to 10% when cruising at top speed.
Each optimal trim tab position is determined very precisely through a patented process using a flow meter on the hydraulic pump. The system is easy to service and extremely resilient, since no sensors are installed on the outside of the boat’s hull.
Due to the special collaboration with Italian hydraulics specialist Draghetti Marine, Böning can assemble a complete system tailored to the customer’s individual requirements. Draghetti Marine has created a new generation of trim tabs, with a curved shape. This improvement offers increased buoyancy when compared to conventional trim tabs of the same size.
