Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
It has been announced that NPS Diesel and Solfic have formed a joint venture — XEAMOS — to serve superyacht shipyards and owners in the field of soot-free and clean-air generator systems.
Solfic’s extensive research and development into exhaust after-treatment systems for specific industrial and marine applications will now be combined with NPS Diesel’s ‘almost-worldwide’ sales and service network for superyacht generators.
XEAMOS said, “Soot-free diesel exhaust gases from generator sets on superyachts are becoming more and more a common standard,” and that this trend has been driven entirely by owner satisfaction rather than any legislative rules.
Benefits of the systems include the avoidance of guests experiencing particulates on deck, no greasy deposits in swimming water and reduction in the smell of diesel fuel.
