Ocea Yachts unveils 38m explorer concept 125XP

French yard Ocea Yachts has released full details of its latest explorer yacht concept, the 38-metre (125-foot) Ocea 125XP.

Developed in collaboration with Joubert-Nivelt Design and Borella Art Design, the globetrotting vessel is the result of six months of technical development. Consequently, clients can expect a much shorter lead time of around 33 months, according to Camper & Nicholsons, who is offering the Ocea 125XP for sale.

The rugged exterior lines and high bulbous bow reflect the yacht’s seafaring capability, with an estimated cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots ensuring every destination is accessible.

Other exploration features include a sheltered nine-metre tender garage that is recessed into the main deck aft. This multifunctional space can also store a crew tender and a pair of Jet Skis.

Discussing the warm and calming interior décor, designer Nicola Borella commented, “I set out to create a world that is real and poetic, comfortable and unashamedly luxurious, all at once.”

On-board accommodation is for up to eight guests across four cabins, including a full-beam master suite that benefits from a walk-in wardrobe as well as his-and-hers bathrooms. Meanwhile, crew quarters are in place for a staff of up to seven people.

At this stage, her engine installation is undisclosed, but it is known that it will provide a top speed of 13 knots.

The 125XP’s interiors reflects the yacht’s globetrotting ambitions, with creamy white koto woodwork sourced from Africa and South American lacewood louro faia. Elsewhere, wool and silk rugs and supple full-grain leathers are offset by chrome accents and decorative items from Cristal Lalique.

"The Ocea 125XP is the culmination of various projects on the theme of calm and lightness,” Borella added. “It's the most beautiful product we've ever made."
