Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
The UK’s largest independent safety supplier, Ocean Safety, will be showcasing its newly designed Kru range of lifejackets at Southampton Boat Show for the first time.
The lifejackets, which include the Kru XS, Kru Sport Pro, Kru Professional and Kru Commodore, have already been on sale for a number of months and have proven extremely popular, particularly amongst racing and active cruising sailors.
The new Kru range features the innovative Riverseal® high tenacity nylon fabric, which boasts 25% increased tensile strength and superior tear, puncture and abrasion resistance. Each model is also designed to be ready to accommodate a Kannad R10 AIS Safety Recovery System.
Charlie Mill of Ocean Safety commented, “We are immensely proud that the Kru lifejacket is built in Britain and from quality tried and tested components. We are therefore all the more excited about showing the Kru range at Southampton. It has already become hugely popular.”
Ocean Safety carried out a detailed research and development programme to upgrade the specification of the Kru lifejacket range including the highly popular Kru Sport Pro. The Kru range has previously been worn by many people, from the Volvo Ocean Race crews to the RSPCA and individual yachtsmen.
With prices starting at £45, the Kru range will be on sale at the Southampton Show between the 12th and 21st September and as with all the company’s lifejackets, Ocean Safety continues to provide a dedicated servicing network.
