Leading superyacht destination Ocean World Marina, located in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, has announced a series of planned development works to be carried out over the coming months.
The marina is planning improvements, which include upgrading their travel lift from 12 tonnes to 40 tonnes, allowing it to haul out yachts of up to 70 feet. Many other improvements are also planned, such as machinery enhancements in their boatyard, as well as the training of existing staff and the hiring of new staff to help with the new workload.
The marina also announced it will be upgrading their dry storage facilities, and that it will be soon be able to store up to 130 vessels, which will allow the marina to provide long-term dry storage services for their clients.
Jean Pereyra, managing director of Ocean World Marina explained, “These new improvements are fantastic news for our existing clients as well as new potential clients that we will be able to reach out to. Ocean World Marina is the only marina in the North Coast in Puerto Rico with maintenance and repair facilities.
“With our own yacht chandlery, car rental, tours and dive centres we are one of the most popular options for charter companies. We also offer slightly larger vessels with more comfort, known as our mid-range cruisers.”
