Oculus and Seetrac Work Together For 'New Tracking Technologies'

Oculus has announced plans to bring together its YachtEye infotainment product with the onboard Seetrac Tender Tracking Systems.

YachtEye provides a 3D visual representation of tenders. It also displays tracking information including the tender’s position, speed, and the depth of water at the tender’s location.

Meanwhile, Seetrac’s Tender Tracking Systems provide the real-time locations and identities of watercraft as they operate around a superyacht.

“We are delighted to be working more closely with Seetrac,” said Kim Jansen, co-owner of Oculus Technologies BV. “YachtEye is an infotainment product and whilst infotainment is its primary function, providing onboard information has always played a key role.”

“By working with Seetrac we are now able to extend this to include essential and critical information feedback.”

As the name suggests, an “infotainment” product provides both information and entertainment.

Integrating YachtEye with onboard Seetrac Tender Tracking Systems means that the YachtEye “camera” will now be able to follow a tender’s location and raise an alarm signal, if necessary.

Plans are also afoot for YachtEye to incorporate data from Seetrac’s “Globe-trak” to target multiple targets via satellite transponders – offering the power to track an entire fleet.
