ONE15 Christmas Boat Light Parade draws to a close

Last weekend saw the ONE15 Christmas Boat Light Parade at ONE15 Marina Club in Singapore, across Friday 20^th and Saturday 21^st November.

31 yachts in a variety of shapes and sizes, were covered in an array of festive lights and other decorations to the theme of ‘A Tropical Christmas on Water’. The yachts set sail from ONE15 Marina Club towards Sentosa Island, before ending at Sentosa Boardwalk to be judged based on their creative use of lighting, music, crowd engagement, originality and depiction of the theme.

Mr. Muhammad Khairul Bin Abdul Rahim, a participant on board the Pesca Vita yacht said, “I particularly enjoyed admiring how each boat had a unique representation of the given theme. They each stood out in their own ways. It was undeniably an intriguing experience to be part of the flotilla and witnessing the mesmerising display of lights by the other boats.”

The parade then concluded at the ONE15 Marina Club where an awards ceremony was held and guests enjoyed a large spread of finger food, free flow of wine, beer and soft drinks and live music. The awards ceremony also included a lucky draw for participants who were unlucky in the boat parade’s judging, with the chance to win a variety of other prizes.

Ms. Melissa Elvin, a judge and senior vice president and head of corporate communications for parade sponsor, Pacific Star, commented, "It was heartening to see the creative use of lights and ornaments on the boats which gave a vibrant festive atmosphere when the boats lit up while cruising along the Sentosa Boardwalk. The participants certainly gave their all in this parade!”

Mr. Fintan McKiernan, owner of Sea Monster, the winning vessel for Best of Show added, “It was definitely a total surprise when we were named Best of Show. My wife and our friends had a wonderful time, from decorating the Sea Monster to seeing all the other participants with their amazing seasonal displays. I am already looking forward to the next Christmas boat light parade!”
