Pendennis Cup fleet announced

The 2014 Pendennis Cup, will take place from the 26th - 31st May 2014 in Falmouth, UK, with the racing managed by the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club and race officer Peter Craig.

The four race days are supported by a range of shore side events providing a fantastic opportunity for the guests, sponsors and crews to reflect on the days racing whilst enjoying the best hospitality, entertainment and cuisine that Cornwall has to offer.

A growing fleet is expected this year with Mariette of 1915 returning to defend her title, challenged by the 65m three-masted schooner Adix. Also competing will be Pendennis-built yachts Rebecca and Christopher. These yachts will be joined by Breakaway and Velacarina, with previous winner Adela keen to return.

The Pendennis Cup is organised by Pendennis Shipyard every two years and in 2012 year the event also featured a full shore-side programme to complement the 4 days of competitive racing, culminating in an evening at Pendennis Castle for the final awards ceremony.

Full details of the event, with an overview of the fleet, race results and sponsor listings can be followed at The Pendennis Cup.
