Porto Montenegro, based in Tivat, Montenegro, has announced the opening of a new Beach and Marina Park, which is now open for the Mediterranean season.
The multiple award-winning superyacht marina, located along Montenegro’s Adriatic coastline, has opened the new waterfront area and event space as it prepares for the summer months. The team has also released a full calendar of events for the coming months.
The first new opening is an innovative extension of the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club (PMYC), which gives the area its own PMYC Beach. This is a 600-square-metre spot with direct sea access, plentiful seating, hammocks and more – it is designed to be an ideal place to relax during the day, but at night it is transformed into an open-air cinema with cocktail bar.
The second opening, the 1,000-square-metre Porto Montenegro Marina Park, overlooks the berthed superyachts and UNESCO-protected Boka Bay. This event space boasts flowering gardens and a marquee stretching across 240 square metres, and will provide guests with the chance to play a number of traditional garden games (including badminton, croquet and boules) on the manicured outdoor lawn.
Tony Browne, marina director at Porto Montenegro, said of the new developments, “This summer we welcome new venue launches and a whole calendar of events and regattas…with new residences on the horizon and natural expansion of the village in the years to come.”
The marina village will also benefit from the newly renovated Auditorium and Synchro venues – an array of impressive facilities that will play host to concerts, theatrical performances, elegant soirees and much more over the summer. In addition to these grand re-openings, this season the village will welcome a new champagne and seafood bar, Montenegro’s first traditional steakhouse, a noodle bar and renowned contemporary Japanese eatery Sumosan.
Porto Montenegro will also be hosting its debut fashion show and ever-popular wine festival this summer, with exhibitions of local history, World Cup screenings, yoga classes, degustation dinners and even a hackathon taking place before the end of the season.
