Less than a month remains before Puerto Sherry will be hosting its traditional and prestigious Classic Sailing Week, which is due to take place between the 22nd and 27th of July. Among other events during the week, the full service marina located in Cadiz, Spain, will host the Spanish Cup for Classic Sailing – Pedro Bores Memorial Cup, an event for classic sailing ships of international standard.
The first week of classic sailing was recently held in Monaco, which marked the beginning of the annual calendar of international class events for 15m yachts. Taking part in the Monaco sailing week was sailing yacht Hispania, a sail yacht based in Puerto Sherry.
Similarly to the the Monaco event, the Classic Week Puerto Sherry is a sporting event that showcases the excellence of the Bay of Cadiz and its facilities. Manuel Cardenas of Puerto Sherry commented, "This event adds to the abundant tourism that exists in the Bay of Cadiz and its environment, assuming a major national and international tourist attraction."
To do this, the organisation is run by Puerto Sherry, the Ebusitana Island Foundation and the Club de Mar Puerto Sherry, in collaboration with the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation under the patronage of Marina El Puerto de Santa María, the Department of Development and Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía, Mitsubishi Motors, Repsol, Osborne and Kapote.
