Qatar International Boat Show announces restructure for 2016

Organisers of the Qatar International Boat Show, Al Mannai Events, have announced the appointment of a new management team to lead the fourth edition of the show this year, in October 2016.

After the death of QIBS chairman Mr. Essa Al Mannai in November, it was announced that his heirs would take over the company’s management and operations, including the continuation of the boat show, in memory of their father and his legacy.

In a statement, organisers announced that CEO of Al Mannai Events and former QIBS vice chairman Faysal Mikati, and former QIBS boat show director Anna-Denise Ioannou, would remain partners in the company, but move on to other opportunities.

Faysal Mikati commented, “Mr. Essa’s Al Mannai vision of bringing an international event to Qatar, for Qatar was our greatest achievement as partners and we will be supporting the show behind the scenes in any way possible.

“Qatar Maritime industry is progressing day by day and we are very proud to have contributed in this with the conceptualisation and successful execution of three International Boat Shows for Qatar.”

Last year, QIBS welcomed more than 15,000 visitors throughout its five-day event, with more than 120 brands on display from around the world. This year’s event is due to be held between 25th and 29th October, at the Lusail Marina.
