The 2015 International Boat Show Palma, organised by the Balearic Government, has now closed, announcing a record number of visitors, with more than 40,000 people attending this years’ show.
Organisers confirmed that Friday was the most popular day, as more than 11,000 people visited the both the Boat Show Palma and the Palma Superyacht Show.
Joquin Garcia, counsellor of economy and competitiveness commented, “Three years ago we decided to cancel it because of its public costs and bad results, but now – after listening to the requests of the nautical sector, we are proud to announce that Palma Boat Show is an obligatory appointment in the calendar.”
This edition of the show featured 207 exhibitors, 180 boats (70 of them superyachts) and 3,000 brands.
Chema Sans, director of the Palma Boat Show, explained that these numbers demonstrate “the compatibility between the model of the fair and the needs of the commercial sector.”
The Economy and Competitiveness Department of the Balearic Islands has already announced that they are working on next year’s edition, as 75% of the current exhibitors have already requested a stand for the next one, which will be held from 28th April to 2nd May.
The aim for 2016, according to Joquin Garcia, is to improve the infrastructures of the Port of Palma -including drafts, moorings and parking facilities, therefore attracting more customers.
