Ships Electronic Services embarks on major expansion of its technical team

Ships Electronics Services (SES) is responding to a substantial increase in business across the offshore, commercial, leisure and MoD sectors with the announcement of a major senior appointment of Technical Sales Manager, Trevor Slater. Trevor joins SES following several years with Shell International Trading & Shipping Co. Ltd where he was the executive electronics and communications engineer.

Commenting on the latest appointment, Stephen Roper, Managing Director of SES said, “I had known Trevor for many years while he was with STASCo and have always been impressed by his knowledge of the industry and technical expertise. We are delighted to welcome him to SES where I am confident our customers will be equally impressed with Trevor’s insight and technical experience.”

Zoe Edmunds has been appointed as Technical Sales Manager for the Poole office. Zoe has been working in the marine electronics industry for 15 years and has key experience in the 50-90ft OEM and retrofit markets which are a major growth area for SES. Stephen Roper commented, “Zoe's enthusiasm and desire to expand her knowledge further will no doubt lead to her involvement in some of our larger projects as client numbers grow. Expanding our capabilities in this area allows SES to cater for our existing client base as well as develop other clients, regardless of vessel size.”

SES has also appointed additional engineers at its Aberdeen, Liverpool and Grangemouth facilities. Increasing demand for the production of drawings for several of its ship building customers such as Fergusson’s, has encouraged the company to recruit additional specialist draughtsmen and is still seeking other experienced electronic engineers to join their team at a number of coastal facilities around the UK.
