In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Following a partnership agreement signed with the Marine Department of Thailand’s Ministry of Transport, organisers SYE Pte Ltd have announced that the first edition of the Phuket Yacht Show, now re-christened the Thailand Yacht Show, will take place from 11th to 14th February 2016.
The event will be held at the Ao Po Grand Marina, Phuket, and will represent the first superyacht charter show in South East Asia.
Dedicated to luxury yacht charter, the event is set to be publically announced at an international press conference and private launch party hosted by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, in Bangkok on 16th September. According to sources, the idea for an international yacht show in Thailand, came from the Prime Minster himself, in a bid to make Phuket the principal hub for superyachts in Asia.
The meeting will take place on the Normam Foster-designed 41-metre M/Y Ocean Emerald; the first vessel to be awarded the new superyacht charter license. She will be docked alongside an exclusive waterfront venue in Bangkok for the evening.
This announcement follows the recent plans for Thailand to open its waters to foreign-flagged superyacht charters for the first time. The new permits are the result of a three-year lobby by key industry figures in the country to try and promote superyacht tourism to Thailand.
