Sovren House Group strengthens management and build divisions with new hire

Sovren House Group, the parent company behind many international yachting companies, has announced a new addition to its management team to oversee crew, operational management, new-build projects and training.

With 35 years’ total experience and 400,000nm under his belt, Stephen Warren joins Sovren in the group’s Palma de Mallorca office as yacht management director.

His career to date includes seven years as captain of 81-metre (265-foot) Feadship M/Y Air, where he was involved from concept design through to launch in March 2018.

He has also worked as the owner’s representative and captain on 55m and 43m Feadship motor yachts Huntress and Eclipse, and 90m Lürssen Ice, as well as assisting International Yacht Register on the extension of charter yachts Titania and  Solis. Both of which were done hand in hand with Stephen White, founder of Sovren House Group and International Yacht Register.

White said, “Steve has worked with me as a consultant for the last nine years and our friendship actually dates back to the eighties when we were both starting out as superyachts captains.

“His knowledge of both yacht operations and new build are unrivalled in the marketplace, so with someone of Steve’s calibre, we can really strengthen Sovren’s yacht management, build and crew divisions. Overall my vision is to take the company to the next level and provide a range of value-based solutions for both owner and customer.”

Warren said of his new position, “This is a perfect time to start a new chapter in my career, having completed 25 years of loyal service to one owner. I am delighted to have the opportunity to expand the management fleet, provide assistance on new builds and refits, provide quality assistance tailored to each yacht’s individual requirements, and, of course, utilise our in-house agency to provide best-in-class crew.”
