On the 1st of June, Ignatios and Michael Spanopoulos played a host to the reception for the official opening of the new superyacht refit yard of Spanopoulos Group.
The opening ribbon was cut by the deputy minister for development & competitiveness, Mr. Athanasios Skordas. The deputy minister gave a short speech, praising the specific business initiative and focusing on the importance of investments, which contribute to the development and progress of the country.
The new yard is situated in 34 Dimokratias Ave, Perama, Greece and has been fully operational since February 2014. Already the shipyard has created many new job opportunities in an area where unemployment levels are high.
The 16,500m2 site is dedicated exclusively to luxury superyachts, providing all kinds of services under the high standard classifications of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISPS and high liability insurance.
The shipyard is expected to become a worldwide landmark for yacht repair, rebuild and maintenance. Spanopoulos Group was founded 30 years ago and is a family owned and operated business offering a range of marine services.

POSIDONIA 2014 in Athens in June; its subsidiary company, Hydraulic Technology as well as partners Wahoo RIBS Ltd and Flemish Maritime Cluster exhibited on their stand.
