Spirit Yachts to unveil new P40 tender at up and coming boat shows

Luxury classic yacht designer and builder, Spirit Yachts will be exhibiting its new 12 metre power boat at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, 8th to 13th September, and during the Monaco Yacht Show, 23rd to 26th September.

Designed as both a leisure motor cruiser or a superyacht tender, the new Spirit P40 will launch in Cannes’ Vieux Port on pontoon five, berth PAN034. Also set to exhibit at the Monaco Yacht Show, Spirit Yachts has incorporated iconic lines and structural integrity synonymous with Spirit Yachts’ modern classic design and build.

The cruising option layout includes an open-plan double-berth, although additional accommodation in the deck saloon can be incorporated. With dining space below or al fresco in the cockpit, there is the option to specify an enclosed or semi-enclosed wheelhouse.

Sean McMillan, CEO and head designer of Spirit Yachts said, “We have applied the same level of attention to detail and technicality to the P40 as we do to our range of sailing yachts.  She offers ultimate flexibility in her layout and usage options and we are looking forward to her launch at one of the most prestigious shows in the yachting calendar.  Whilst our modern classic sailing yachts will always be our core business the growing interest in our power boat designs presents an exciting new avenue for Spirit Yachts.”

Displacing only 4.5 tons, the P40 is powered by two Yanmar 260hp inboard engines, which deliver a top speed of 36 knots and a cruising speed of 29 knots.  The hull is fitted with four half-moon venturi chines, which draw a cushion of air under the boat and reduce drag.

Also on display at each event will be Spirit Yachts’ latest superyacht designs for a 118-foot sailing yacht and the recently launched Spirit Royale 110-foot motor yacht drawings, both of which are collaborative projects with design agency Rhoades Young.
