Organisers and exhibitors at Palm Beach International Boat Show have reported a successful show for 2016, despite a spell of wet weather during the four-day event.
Over 1,000 vessels were on display at the show, the largest number ever exhibited. A number of well-known superyachts were exhibited, including 82m Solandge, 62m Sealyon and 77m Silver Fast.
According to local reports, organisers reported an increase of 28 per cent in visitor numbers since 2015, however a spell of wet weather on the weekend of the show caused numbers to fall slightly. Despite this, the number of yachts on display increased by eight per cent, with a new pier also added in Palm Harbor Marina to accommodate superyachts up to 85m long.
Efrem Zimbalist III, president of Show Management commented, “This show is now ranked among the largest boat and yacht shows in the nation and continues to grow across all size categories. Record crowds on Thursday and Friday got the show off to a great start, and despite the rain over the weekend, exhibitor feedback was very positive about the show’s appeal to qualified buyers.”
