Successful 2016 METSTRADE Show

Organisers of the METSTRADE Show have announced that 2016 was one of their most successful shows yet, with a packed programme of events taking place before, during and after the show.

Drawing to a close last week on Thursday 17th November, organisers shared that the three-day METSTRADE Show broke all previous records for exhibitor and visitor attendance, with statistics showing an 8% increase on figures from last year.

Official statistics recorded 15,541 unique visitors entering Amsterdam’s RAI to view offerings from 1,471 worldwide exhibitors, with 23,702 total visits in all. The second day of the show was the busiest day recorded, as 10,000 visitors entered to visit 11 exhibitor halls.

According to organisers, 85% of the overall visitor total had decision-making authority within their company, and 35% were under 35 years of age – a 10% rise on METSTRADE 2015.

Yachting Pages was on hand throughout the show to meet visitors and exhibitors in the SuperYacht Pavilion, which played host to a total of 265 exhibitors – an increase of 41 on 2015. The Marina and Yard Pavilion was sold out, with 64 stands (49 in 2015), and the Construction Material Pavilion hosted a further 45 stands (35 in 2015).

Irene Dros, Maritime METSTRADE Manager said, “The 2016 edition of METSTRADE may well be remembered as the year which the show raised the bar to the next level.

“The side programme of conferences and events was bigger and better than ever before, and it is clear that METSTRADE increasingly serves as a magnet for smart initiatives from across every discipline and market with the maritime world. Not only are we comparing more events: Crucially, they are proving to be very successful and focused on the kind of face-to-face meetings for which RAI Amsterdam is renowned.”

Yachting Pages' operations manager, Carrie Plummer said, "Yet again METS did not dissapoint in terms of amount and diversity of exhibitor and visitor alike. Yachting Pages always enjoys attending METS, which is a show that attracts new exhibitors each year - a truly brilliant platform to showcase new products and share them with industry professionals."

The 2017 METSTRADE will be held in RAI Amsterdam from 14th to 16 November.
