Sunseeker International has announced that it has become an official FIFA Partner ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The UK yacht builder had been teasing an ‘exclusive announcement’ on social media since the turn of the year, using the hashtag #officialpartnerofwinning, alongside a series of short video montages, the most recent of which featuring current England national team manager Gareth Southgate and iconic former player Paul Gascoigne.
It officially confirmed the exciting partnership with FIFA at the London Boat Show 2018 this morning (10th January).
Exhibiting at the event in Newham, Sunseeker invited 1966 World Cup winner and England hat-trick hero Sir Geoff Hurst to open its stand, surrounded by an array of football artefacts, including the full-size replica of the legendary Jules Rimet Trophy. Hurst, the only player to score three goals in a World Cup final, was joined by Sunseeker’s chosen compere, TV broadcaster Jake Humphrey, to kick off proceedings on stand LE229.
To celebrate the football theme, a group of skilled performers took to the stage to dazzle spectators before Humphrey interviewed Hurst in Sunseeker’s grand finale.
The Jules Rimet Trophy, loaned to Sunseeker by the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich, Switzerland, will be on display until the London Boat Show 2018’s opening event concludes later today.
Meanwhile, Sunseeker’s full display includes the show debuts of its 76 Yacht and Predator 57 MKII.
The London Boat Show 2018 is taking place from 10th to 14th January 2018.
