Superyacht chefs' competition announced for MYBA Charter Show

The MYBA Charter Show has announced that there will once again be a MYBA Superyacht Chef’s Competition at this year’s show, which is due to take place on the 27^th to the 30^th April 2015 in Genoa, Italy.

With 2015 anticipated to be a challenging year for the participants, it provides a good opportunity for chefs to display their talents and impress a panel of judges who are characterised by their demanding palates.

Among the judges this year are Antonio Mellino and Thierry Blouin. Two Michelin-starred chef Mellino is the owner of the award winning restaurant Quattro Passi on the Amalfi coast and has recently opened Quattro Passi London in Mayfair.

Thierry Blouin is known for being behind "La Mere Germaine" in Villefranche, renowned for its sophisticated dishes which are created with innovative culinary techniques.

The competition is divided into three categories, based upon yacht length, and chefs are asked to express originality and creativity through the use of seasonal ingredients. The theme is revealed in advance and this year it bears the title of “A Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet Dinner Party with Decadent Chocolate Dessert". 

In addition to the chefs, the crew will also be competing for the "Best Service Award", a prize for the best welcome and overall impression achieved by a crew as a team and table service.
