In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
You only need to look at high profile yachts like Venus or the recently launched 180m Project Azzam to see that the world of yacht design is exciting and unlike any other realm of architecture or design. In the first event of its kind, running 18 to 20 June 2013, in partnership with Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, SuperyachtDESIGN Week will bring together the influential and innovative design minds and suppliers behind these floating palaces.
The calendar is already saturated with superyacht conferences, boat shows, awards ceremonies and symposiums, so this will be none of the above. Nor will it be an egotistical display of wealth and excess. SuperyachtDESIGN Week will instead be a celebration of yacht design. Spread over three days, the event will feature discussions, scheduled meetings, workshops and demonstrations on all aspects of superyacht design, with some of the industry’s top names. Confirmed speakers include Terence Disdale, Ed Dubois, Jonny Horsfield, Richard Liebowitz, Espen Oeino, John Leonida, Martin Francis, Marnix Hoekstra, Mariacristina Rapisardi, Elena Cristofori and Rob Doyle.
A keynote speech entitled ‘Rough Luxe’ will come from internationally acclaimed architect and designer Rabih Hage, the award-winning mind behind some of the most exciting residential and hotel designs around the world as well as exclusive interiors and unique furniture design. A second keynote address will ask ‘what needs to change?’ Led by Vripack’s Marnix Hoekstra, it will be a fluid debate on the main areas that need to change in the serious world of design, architecture and creativity.
Exploring everything from space planning, glass, interior construction, crew space, AV and more, SuperyachtDESIGN Week will be the perfect opportunity for designers to not only explore what the future holds, but to exchange ideas and innovations that can advance the lifestyle of the world’s most discerning clients.
