Superyacht Insurance Group (SYIG) has recently announced that it is to expand its insurance portfolio, with several new crew insurance offerings.
The new offerings include an MLC-compliant global medical plan that includes Disability Income Protection, to ensure crew receive 100% of their salary should they fall ill or have an accident. The policy covers crew for up to 16 to 52 weeks, and is available for individuals or groups. There will also be further Accident Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) policy options to meet demand in the sector.
Maria Karlsson, president and founder of SYIG said, “The importance of offering a wide range of insurance options can’t be stressed enough. Every crew member has a different story and needs an insurance policy that works for their unique situation and travel agenda, therefore we need to offer flexible alternatives.
“Furthermore, the competition has increased over the last couple of years, and it will give us a competitive edge to be able to offer different plans and more options than our competitors.”
Speaking of SYIG’s personalised service, Maria continued, “Our focus is providing excellent and personalised customer service. Since we’re a boutique firm, we know out customers by name and our clients tell us that out service is very professional and friendly.
“We provide coverage for both the yacht and the crew under one roof, this is what sets us apart from the competition. We recommend suitable policy options based on clients’ needs, we assist and overlook the application process and we assist with claims.”
