In December 2015, Sudcantieri, a leading marina and shipyard in Italy, will be releasing a free downloadable app, which will allow its users to take a virtual tour around Naples and Pozzuoli. According to the brand, the app will help the user discover all the attractions of the area such as restaurants, outside activities, local markets, specialist cuisine, tourist hotspots and itineraries.
Speaking exclusively to Yachting Pages, Marina Maione of Sudcantieri commented, “The Sudcantieri app has been created specifically for iPhones and Androids, and it is the guide that boating tourists must have in their suitcases. When visitors arrive, they can organise their own tour via the app: What to see, where to eat, and furthermore, to gather useful information about transport, maps, ferryboats to the islands, arrival and departure times of trains and planes, weather forecasts, car hire, and more.
“With this platform, guests of Naples and Pozzuoli can create their own personal travel itinerary and plan every detail of their stay.”
According to Sudcantieri, the app is particularly useful tool for visiting yacht guests and crew, as these visitors usually only have the time for a brief visit. The application therefore gives information of all nearby supermarkets and ship chandlers where they can stock up before leaving.
