The countdown has begun for Contest Meeting Mallorca 2015

Now that January 2015 is well underway, Spanish yacht agent, Fine Yachts, is urging eleventh edition competitors to sign up to the Contest Meeting Mallorca 2015 regatta before it’s too late.

With only 20 weeks to go, four yachts have already signed up to participate, while the Fine Yachts’ organisers are hoping to find six more competitors for the annual regatta.

After the resounding success of last year, the event will again be held in the Bay of Palma, Mallorca in mid-June, with the dates announced as 11,12 and 13^th June 2015.

Fine Yachts declared a ‘great, surprising and refreshing programme’ for the coming regatta, which is sure to entertain both on and off the water.

Nico Martinez has again been announced as the event photographer, with Pantaneius Insurance and El Corte Inglés also collaborating as sponsors. Gaastra will be supplying the 2015 t-shirts guaranteeing a stylish yacht crew.

The 10^th edition of the Contest Meeting saw a fleet of seven Contest yachts come together last year in order to enjoy the fine weather, gusty winds and enjoyable racing of Mallorca. 

Entries ranged from the Contest 33 to the Contest 55CS, Contest sloop sailing yachts, which berthed alongside the other competitors in the Real Club Náutico Palma marina for the regatta to enjoy its first class facilities and stunning views. 

The race kicked off with welcome drinks and networking at the marina, and a captain’s briefing, which included the handout of welcome packs, t-shirts and caps. Local sponsors Mallorca Sunshine Radio provided the delicious Mallorcan wine, which went down very well with the competitors.

The final winner was announced as Amati, a Contest 55CS sloop yacht, with Karina a Contest 33, and Shirley May, a Contest 48CS taking up second and third place respectively.
