Today sees the start of the 2015 Yachting Shanghai International Marine Festival, the first luxury yachting and lifestyle festival to take place in Shanghai, China.
Announced at a press conference at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2014, the event is expected to provide a trading platform to improve the yachting lifestyle in China, combining the three concepts of maritime culture, urban marine lifestyle and ocean art.
The five-day event, organised by the Shanghai Yuanzhou Culturals Communication Company, will take place across two locations in Shanghai, within the Shanghai Houtan Park and the Century Minsheng Art Museum. Here, leading yacht brands from around the world will exhibit their products and services over an event space of 15,000 square miles.
The dedicated space will be divided into three different areas; one will display high-end luxury yachts, one is dedicated to coastal living, and the final space within the park will host the festival.
Princess Yachts and Edminston are set to attend the event, and yachts from Heysea, Hattaras and Ferretti will be on display for industry professionals, local and international press and business owners. The festival will combine the luxury markets of superyachts and private jets, alongside fine foods and wines.
The event management team has estimated an attendance of 10,000 people per day across the five-day event.
