The second annual Pirate Day at Emirates Palace Marina saw over 50 children taking to the high seas!

To the delight of budding Jack Sparrow fans, Emirates Palace Marina in Abu Dhabi held its second annual Pirate Day to coincide with International Talk Like A Pirate Day last weekend.

An afternoon of watersport activities and competitions for kids of all ages saw over 50 children in pirate costume introduced to pirate-themed watersports. In conjunction with Emirates Palace Beach Club, The Yellow Boats and Al Mahara Diving, watery competitions included Tug of War; swimming races; Dolphin Jousting; water balloon fights; speedboat rides; and a treasure hunt.

Prizes for the individual competitions and best dressed pirate were also awarded. Though primarily organised for marina members, non-member families were also welcomed to sample the beautiful waterfront environment of Emirates Palace Marina, and to see their new vessel – a real-life pirate ship made from plastic waterbottles!
