Trend Marine appoints MDS as official agents

Marine Design Services (MDS) has been appointed as official agents and installers for Trend Marine in Palma de Mallorca, thanks to their ability to 3D scan both flat and curved windows both quickly and accurately for refit or new build projects.

MDS will cut templates on their 3D CNC machine to verify the scan data before sending to Trend Marine where the glazing solution is produced on site, at Trend’s impressive 12-acre Norfolk site in the United Kingdom.

Trend specialises in producing thermally and chemically toughened glass, laminated, double glazed and curved via sag bender or thermal bender. With glass contributing considerable weight to a yacht it is becoming important to achieve weight reduction with all superyacht glazing solutions.  Using pressure testing in their in-house Class Society approved pressure vessel, they can propose impressive weight reductions when compared to the conventional calculation methods. Recent tests suggest an impressive 30% weight reduction via the use of laminated chemically toughened glass.

After an impressively fast production schedule the glass is shipped to Palma de Mallorca and installed by MDS’s experienced team at a convenient date for the yacht.

Products can be RINA, Lloyds, BV, ABS & DNV approved and SOLAS compliant.
