The BMF South West has announced the dates for its annual "Try A Boat Free" event, which is part of the BMF ‘On the Water’ campaign.
Last year over 350 people took to the water in a variety of boats from yachts and luxury launches to high speed RIBs.
The event will take place on Saturday 25th May to Sunday 26 May from 10.00am to 4.00pm on South Embankment, Dartmouth by the Lower Ferry.
The event is free for members of the public to try a boat and free to exhibit for fully paid up BMF Members.
To book your place you need to go to the reception unit on the Embankment, book a time slot and complete a short safety form. All the boats are skippered by qualified or professional yachtsmen. You will be provided with lifejackets and the skipper will provide a short safety briefing before you head off.
Depending on weather and tides each trip can be between 20 minutes and an hour. Experts are available throughout both days to discuss with you about buying and owning a boat or answer your questions.
Dartmouth Yacht Club will be open all day to provide refreshments and if required meeting areas.
The event is organised by the BMF South West in association with South Devon Marine and is sponsored by the South Devon College and Ribeye Ltd.
