In a continued effort to make Ventus PRO the most useful navigation app on the market, Ventus Navigation has just released a major upgrade to their Expedition software 9.0.18 (or later) with two powerful additions and several smaller improvements.
Improvements include the new ‘Ping Mark Command’ which allows sailors to ping a new Active Mark in a new Active Course at a range and bearing from your location, or to ping a new mark at a range and bearing from your location that will be inserted into the Current Active Course after the Current Active Mark. It can also be used to set a mark at your current position by entering a zero distance in the range field.
The company has also developed their strip chart feature based on the TWS and TWD data that the Expedition software is sending to Ventus. This addition is available as an in-app purchase. The Strip Charts will show the data in a 15-minute, 30-minute, or 60-minute time period. It displays either the current TWS or TWD in the upper right corner and can be toggled between TWS and TWD by tapping the name in the box. Across the bottom it displays the high value, low value, and average value for your selected time period. It also displays a red dotted line across the chart showing the average.
