Italian yacht builder Wally Yachts, has announced the launch of its 110 Barong D superyacht, at a private ceremony hosted by her owner.
Barong D is the third Wally superyacht to be sold to the owner who, according to Wally, is a “truly passionate and experienced yachtsman.” She is also the 44th sailing yacht to be launched by Wally.
In a statement, Wally described fellow collaborator Frers Naval Architecture as creating the “latest generation high performance superyacht, characterised by a wide hull uniquely camouflaged by classic lines reflecting Barong D’s cruising attitude.”
Barong D was constructed using the latest pre-peg carbon technology, with advanced technology and materials used for her electrical system. She also has a yacht monitor and control system, and a hydraulic system on board.
Standout exterior features include a high modulus carbon mast and furling boom, carbon rigging, titanium deck hardware and fittings. Wally stated that each component of Barong D has been “meticulously developed to produce such a state-of-the-art superyacht reflecting the Wally DNA; to improve on-the-water enjoyment while increasing safety.”
Barong D’s interior features a forward owner’s suite, two double guest cabins and a spacious main saloon. There are also two double cabins for crew, and all cabins feature en-suite bathrooms. Her overall interior styling was developed by Wally, combining pickled oak joinery with dark blue upholstery and gloss carbon soles.
Luca Bassani, CEO and president of Wally commented, “Wally employed all its advanced know-how to produce a fully equipped cruising superyacht displacing only 65 tons; two tons lighter than predicted and approximately 35% less than the other yachts in this size range.
“We succeeded in delivering a truly exceptional performance cruiser that accommodates in full comfort the owners, who spend several months of the year on-board.”
Bassani continued, “The new Wally 110 features all the Wally technologies that we have developed since we started in 1994. These features, which we pioneered, are now adopted by the whole of the industry and include the Wally flush-deck, the Wally sail handling system, and the Wally submarine anchor.”
Barong D is due for delivery at the end of May following two weeks of sea trials.
