Wider Yachts reveals latest Project Cecilia in-build photos

Italian yard Wider Yachts has released the latest in-build photos of its flagship Wider 165 yacht Project Cecilia, which is due to be completed in the coming months.

The new images show that structural work is complete and construction has moved on to the installation and testing of the electrical systems to ensure that the commissioning period is kept to a minimum.

The all-aluminium Wider 165 boasts interior and exterior design by Fulvio De Simoni, with input from Wider’s team of designers and engineers. Key features on board include a touch-and-go helipad, a submersible tender garage that can be converted into a beach club, and an indoor swimming pool.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests across five cabins, including a main deck master suite with its own fold-out balcony. On the lower deck, two VIPs and two twin rooms with Pullman berths complete the guest layout. Elsewhere, the crew quarters allow for a staff of up to nine people.

Power comes from a diesel-electric propulsion system, which includes two 805hp engines for a top speed of 15 knots and comfortable cruising at 13 knots. When trimmed back to its economical speed of 10 knots, Project Cecilia has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles, while silent cruising is available at five knots.

The Wider Management System controls all on-board energy sources, managing the power supplied by the shore connection, gensets and battery packs, and distributing it between the hotel systems, propulsion system and recharging battery packs as needed. The Wider Management System was developed with the assistance of American company Emerson Industrial Automation.

Other superyacht projects currently under development at the Italian yard include the 39.62m (130ft) Wider 130 yacht.
