Work gets underway on five-star hotel at Ocean Village Marina Southampton

Work is underway on the development of Nicolas James Group’s new Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa at MDL’s Ocean Village Marina – Southampton’s only five-star hotel.

Preliminary work got underway at the marina in April this year with enabling works and setting out now underway. Construction is due to follow in the next few months where the anticipated works are expected to take approximately 18 to 24 months to complete.

Joining the Harbour Hotels portfolio, which currently includes five premium hotels across the South West, Southampton Harbour will become the brand’s flagship property.

When complete, the hotel will offer 85 bedrooms, several function rooms, an indulgent spa with gymnasium and swimming pool, and the group’s award-winning Jetty restaurant concept featuring rooftop champagne bar.

The hotel will feature private moorings for its seafaring guests with a renowned London design house having been appointed to create luxury, nautical-inspired interior concepts with yacht décor and a coastal colour palette. Alongside, the Nicolas James Group is also developing 100 luxury residential apartments with water views and exclusive use of the hotel’s Harbour Spa.

When complete, the hotel is set to become a popular attraction during the annual PSP Southampton Boat Show, offering accommodation, catering and facilities in a waterfront setting.
