Xtenders and Vripack deliver tender to M/Y Global

Xtenders and Vripack have announced the successful delivery of the world’s first autoclave, pre-preg carbon-built limousine tender to 68m M/Y Global.

The carbon LimoTender 8.0 can host 10 guess and two crew members and features a luxury, sleek design. Xtenders’ founder Herbert Dercksen, a former Olympic sailor, reportedly used the highest level of modern carbon fibre to ensure an all-important lightweight finish. Unidirectiontional carbon is known for being exceptionally strong and for its ability to deliver high performance in the most challenging conditions.

Vripack designed her hull with a sail boat-like entry angle, flared bow and deep V aft ship, pushing water away from the hull while lifting the boat out. Her hull lines reduce slamming and redirect the spray, allowing her to reach a maximum speed of 40 knots. Vripack drew inspiration for her exterior design from the outlines of M/Y Global, whilst her size is aligned to fit the existing tender garage.

Sam Mandeno, chief officer from M/Y Global described the tender, “The LimoTender has a distinctive look which is both unique and modern. All crew members have been blown away by how she looks and above all how she performs.”

The LimoTender has been designed to combine performance with comfort. According to Vripack, her light weight means to the tender can reach high speeds and offer precise handling and manoeuvrability, while leading to a reduction in engine size, meaning lower fuel consumption and noise levels. She also boasts a light and tranquil interior with an added champagne cabinet, custom mood lighting, air conditioning and multimedia appliances.
