In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
YachtChat, a new smartphone app, has officially launched. Designed to ‘connect yachties with yachties’, YachtChat is both a personal and professional application supporting worldwide superyacht crew.
Purposely following the format of the popular dating app, Tinder, YachtChat allows yachties to get in touch with nearby crew members and industry professionals for networking, dating and more. In fact, yachties are also able to advertise that they are looking for daywork using the platform, marking their listing with an orange box to indicate their availability.
Speaking to The Crew Report, Tory Ryan, founder of YachtChat said, “The initial thought was to call it ‘Yinder’, but I wanted to make it much more than just crew connecting with crew.”
He explained that the app is both “personal and professional”, which is why it offers a ‘looking for work’ feature. He explained, “People are always clogging up Facebook feeds with people looking for work, we thought, what if there was an app that connects yachties with yachties all in one place, and make it geo-localised.
“We wanted to create an app that, if I am in port or going to my next port of call, then you can easily organise dayworkers to be waiting on the quay and ready to start work before the boat even pulls into port.”
Reports suggest that, over time, the app will develop to include a bigger job-search presence, including video CVs on personal profiles.
