In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Yachting technology and media-hosting specialist YachtCloud has launched a new free app named CrewBoard - a digital presence-record system that enables crewmembers to sign in and out of the yacht digitally, speeding up crew management and processes on board.
Branded as “the digital age equivalent to the on-board whiteboard”, the iOS application can be used on mobile devices and touch screen systems on board, allowing crewmembers to sign in and out digitally by manually swiping to indicate their presence.
Additional features can be added in the form of in-app purchases to extend the app’s functionality. These include User Plans to increase the number of users, and Info Pages to provide location-specific information whereby useful contact details can be incorporated for nearby businesses.
CrewBoard works as a stand-alone solution on one or many devices, with automatic synchronisation when combined with CrewBoard software installed on a local or hosted service.
The addition of the CrewBoard server enables increased functionality and features that can be displayed and managed via both the app and the webpage. This webpage version can be used on various-sized touch screens to instantly export a list of actual persons on and off board at any given moment. This is particularly useful in case of emergency, or to review and filter historical presence and attendance data.
Further features include webpage cloud synchronisation to provide read-only CrewBoard webpages wherever you are, which is useful for fleet and yacht management companies.
Andre Klepper, founder of YachtCloud said, “We are delighted that the CrewBoard app is now available to download from the App Store. It makes the product more accessible to a greater number of yachts and crew across a broader spectrum.
“The product is designed to be as simple, secure and reliable as the original white board has been for all those years, but in a format that is more in line with today’s technologies and needs of crew. The app itself provides a great solution for smaller vessels or ever land-based businesses, and the extended features available in combination with the CrewBoard server turn a simple app into a useful on-board tool and management system.”
CrewBoard is available to free to download from the App Store.
