Construction on Satu, the anticipated new 27.5m (90ft) explorer superyacht by Yachting Developments, is nearing completion according to its New Zealand-based builder.
Satu is due to be launched in August 2012. Her owner plans to unveil to craft at Florida’s 2012 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (October 25th to 29th).
Satu’s owner will use to boat to venture into remote and untouched international fishing waters. She will be equipped with various highly-developed onboard systems to remain self-sufficient for several months at a time.
Yachting Developments specialises in composite yachts. Built from carbon fibre, rather than powered steel or aluminum, composite yachts have faster speeds and weigh less. They also have greater resistance against rust, and reduced hull and mechanical noise levels.
Beneath Satu’s hull is a twin 2,500hp MTU 16V diesel engine which will give the craft an estimated top speed of 33-plus knots.
Satu is sure to be a top performing boat, especially as Yachting Developments has teamed-up with Ullberg Yacht Design. The designer is known for its fast and seaworthy sport-fishing yachts.
