Yacht Crew recruitment agency YPI Crew has launched a new peer-to-peer salary comparison website for the yachting industry designed to add a greater level of transparency to how much do yacht crew really earn.

www.yachtingsalaries.com has attracted over 100 salary entries since launching just a few weeks ago, quickly establishing the site as offering the most comprehensive and up-to-date salary database available within the global yachting industry. Salary data on the website is free for anyone to access.

Laurence Lewis, director of YPI Crew explained, “We wanted to take the traditional paper-based salary survey to a whole new level. We are often asked by captains working on their annual budget for salary information and likewise, many candidates ask for advice; We have always felt frustrated with the yearly salary review we used to produce as the salary ranges presented were so broad that in reality they were of little use. We realised that there is a real trend for people to freely exchange valuable information and this current concept taps into that trend”.

Yachtingsalaries.com operates on a “give to get” model. By providing accurate and anonymous salary data,you get access to all the salary information shared by other members of the yachting community.

Any inflated or inconsistent salary entries can be 'flagged' as suspicious by other members of the community or by YPI Crew, and quickly removed from the system to ensure the accuracy of data is maintained.
