Yachts Miami Beach reports success of 2016 edition

Yachts Miami Beach has announced another successful show for 2016, with an increase of its international audience across both show locations, and in the number of superyachts on display.

Running from 11th until 15th February, the show reported an overall increase of five per cent in the total number of boats on display. A particularly notable increase was in superyachts over 45m, which doubled to 22, thanks to the addition of the Yachts Miami Beach superyacht location at Island Gardens Deep Harbour.

David Galante, partner of G Marine and representative of Astondoa and Fairline Yachts commented, “At this Yachts Miami Beach show, we saw very qualified and interested clients in both our totally custom-built and factory-built yachts, ranging from 48ft to 100ft and covering a variety of boating styles.

“We closed deals on four different models, introduced a new 100ft Century Astondoa yacht, and renewed an alliance with Fairline Yachts, so 2016 is looking bright for us and our shipyard.”

Dane Graziano, senior vice president and COO of Show Management commented, “The combination of strong demand for large yachts and the presence of international buyers who love coming to Miami Beach to shop for boats made this the biggest show ever.

“Sunshine and comfortable temperatures were the perfect weather for people who love boating to experience this beautiful show over Presidents Day weekend.”

Miami International Boat Show also took place over the weekend of Yachts Miami Beach, which is owned by the National Marine Manufacturers Association, moving to a new location this year on Virginia Key. Graziano continued, “Commuting between the two shows proved even more time-consuming for show-goers than organisers of both shows had anticipated it would be. We are working together to ensure a smoother flow between the shows next year.”
