Younique Yachts’ tender nominated for Tender Design Award 2015

Younique Yachts’ tender to, Yalla, a limousine tender built for Italian shipyard CRN earlier this year, has been nominated for a Tender Design Award.

Younique Yachts built the tender in close corporation with two other Dutch shipyards, Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and Van Oossanen Naval Architects.

The unique design, by Frank Laupman, was built according to the highest quality standards. It is 9.4m or 31ft long, with a water displacement of 4,500kg. The tender reached a top speed over 40 knots during the trial run despite meeting choppy water on the mandatory sea trials on the North Sea.

Designed for up to 12 passengers, guests can board the ship on the lower aft deck or the higher foredeck, enabling the crew to help passengers get on and off board safely. A smartly designed bow ladder is also available for easy access to the beach.

To keep passengers comfortable, leather seating and a double climate control system has been installed. The crew in the cockpit has a good view of the accommodation and can swiftly and easily reach the engine and installations.

At the new owner’s request, Frank Laupman designed the tender to be just as good-looking as the mother yacht. The layout of its teak decks, the unique colouring of the window glass, the paint job, the leather and the finishing were designed and executed with the mother yacht in mind.

The windows of the limousine tender are real eye-catchers, with all 12 separate windows custom-built by Younique Yachts to form a sleek and smooth whole.

Unity and uniformity is what Younique Yachts is all about. Windows, door fittings, fender hooks and all other separate parts need to form a balanced unity.

Younique Yachts is currently working on the design of a new range of 9.5m tenders in collaboration with Frank Laupan and Oossanen Naval Architects. Egbert Wattel of Younique Yachts said of the new range, “The new range will be based on three different models. A supply tender for crews, a sports tender for owners and a limousine tender for official transfers.

“In the years ahead, Younique Yachts will be offering these new models as well as its custom built products to the megayacht industry. The new range reflects our philosophy. We listen to the end user’s wishes and use our joint knowledge and experience to make all these wishes come true.”
