At the centre of the action in VictoriaThe city of Victoria is a historic hub on the western coast of Canada, close to the U.S. border and just 60 miles from the bustling metropolis of Vancouver.
Victoria boasts an enviable sporting history and has hosted a number of high-profile events over the decades – including the Commonwealth Games and U20 FIFA World Cup. Regular sporting events in the city and surrounding areas include a number of yacht races and sailing regattas, and visitors can spend time playing at a number of golf courses just a short distance from the marina.
If visitors time their stay well, then there are also major Victoria Harbour events such as the Symphony Splash – where a full orchestra performs on a barge on the water, accompanied by full cannons for certain pieces of music and a firework display during the finale.
Victoria is a thriving cultural centre in Canada, with numerous theatrical, musical, and cinematic hotspots to enjoy during a visit. Those staying at Victoria International Marina can enjoy a plethora of parks, botanic gardens, galleries, museums and retail centres – although the main attractions of the area are undoubtedly the beautiful cruising waters.
Peerless natural wondersVictoria International Marina is perfectly positioned for visitors to discover over 15,000 miles of jaw-dropping coastline in the Pacific Northwest. From here, superyacht guests and owners can journey to Alaska, Washington state and British Columbia with ease – soaking in magnificent sights and exploring forested islands, untouched wildernesses, protected marine parks, mountains, waterfalls, fjords and archipelagos aplenty. Fishing grounds in this region are also unusually productive – and if visitors are particularly lucky they may encounter whales and porpoise while on sojourns around the area.
British Columbia’s coastline is also part of the ancestral home of several First Nations, and visitors can explore heritage sites and partake in guided tours of their lands.
