MDL Fitness launches yacht-compatible eco-friendly fitness equipment

Eco-friendly gym MDL Fitness has released a range of innovative and sustainable fitness equipment which is available to be installed on board yachts. This enables superyacht owners and guests to join the world’s first eco-friendly floating fitness league, The Boaters Super League.

In partnership with SA Green Solutions, MDL Fitness is bringing state-of-the-art SportsArt green fitness equipment to the boating community. No longer restricted to exercising and using the equipment in a designated gym, the eco-power and elite cardio bikes, treadmills and cross-trainers can be installed on board yachts.

The equipment converts up to 74% of human kinetic energy produced while exercising into clean, renewable energy, and the watts generated can be sent back through the yacht's power grid to offset energy consumption or to recharge batteries.

Tim Mayer, sales and marketing director at MDL Fitness, commented, “Members can track their energy production, machine usage stats, and compare their progress against other yachters through a local and global watt-produced leader board.

“Members can also talk to each other via the forum and get great content via the MDL Fitness website. This is the perfect fitness solution to inspire today’s environmentally conscious boaters.”

Supported by a global network of engineers, and designed to work with any on-board power system, this new ‘green’ gym option can be installed on a new build yacht or retrofitted on an already established privately owned or charter yacht.

With small, medium and large equipment packages available featuring single to multiple items, a fitness suite can be tailored to fit the space available.

If space on board is tight, SportArt green fitness equipment can also be installed at home, so all boat owners can join in the fun and compete in The Boaters Super League.
