YACHTING PAGES AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Turning the tide on ocean pollution

"Yachting Pages understands the importance of protecting our environment. By working with organisations, associations and individuals in the industry we aim to minimise our impact on the environment and encourage others to do what they can to make a positive difference to this global concern.

"Every employee at Yachting Pages is committed to this fundamental strategy whilst providing the highest levels of customer service to ensure the success of not only our corporate goals but those of our clients. By continuing our own evolution within this fragile environment, we rely upon, we aim to be industry leaders; on every level.

"This year, as we celebrate our 16th year of business, we're shining a spotlight upon the environmental issues within our industry. As a business, we are proud to be active listeners and are eager to ensure that our unprecedented service to the industry is aligned to these values.

"We only work with suppliers who share our vision; and as well as our own financial contributions to ecological development, we are ensuring that our impact on the environment is minimised at every level."

Save Our Seas

In 2019 we teamed up with Blue Marine Foundation and Octo Marine in a campaign to Save Our Seas (S.O.S), encouraging people to stop buying single-use plastic bottles. #SOSBOTTLE

London to Monaco charity cycle ride

Consecutively for the past two years, Steve Crowe has participated in Blue Marine Foundation’s (BLUE) cycle ride, from London to Monaco.

The entire eight-day annual charity event aims to increase awareness of our oceans, as it raises money for BLUE’s ocean conservation work across the world.

2020 will mark the fifth anniversary of the ride.

Other charity bike rides

Yachting Pages has also participated in a number of other charity bike rides, including The Champagne & Oyster Cycling Club of Monaco four times and Cogs4Cancer three times.

We have also published and distributed 20,000 educational bookmarks for The French Agency for Biodiversity. The bookmark informs yacht captains and crew of the environmental protection mooring regulation in the French Mediterranean Sea and provides advice for eco-friendly mooring in the region.

Reducing plastic pollution

Since 2018 we've been supporting and working with EcoAngels. For the last two years, we have taken part in the Stars'N'Bars post-Monaco Yacht Show clean up, helping to remove all the exhibitors' plastic waste.

Sustainable and recyclable

Our printed Yachting Pages directories have always been printed on 100% sustainable paper. In 2019, all directories were printed on FSC paper by a printer who has been certified by the PEFC and Imprim Vert, which means their plants are responsibly managed and do not disperse polluting agents into the environment.

For 2020 we're looking at 100% recycled paper options.

Yachting Pages Delivers bag made from recycled bottlesFive green pens

Our Yachting Pages Delivers bags are made from recycled plastic bottles. We also finely tune our distribution strategy every year and only print the number of books we need to.

This year we produced BIO pens which are made from sugar cane and used metal re-usable straws, which we sourced from The Green Stewardess. Both the pens and metal straws were available from our stand at Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show.
