I completed the 6 week online marine Refrigeration Masterclass and then took the practical assessment. The online course was very easy to follow and had helpful videos, lectures and course notes. Plus scenarios and Quizzes to test the knowledge of each section. Stuart was always available to call to clarify any issues with patience. The practical was good with one test rig to myself to work on and helpful instruction from Stuart. Great lunches too!

Very good hands on experience

I have been working as a marine engineer on yachts from 43m through to 96m for the last 7 years and have found this course one of the better courses that I have taken in my time in the industry. This course has a good balance between theory and practical. It gives a great base knowledge with the latest standards and regulations and the direction the refrigeration industry is going in regards to climate change and global warming. As well as very good hands on experience, covering repairs to pipe work as well as leak detection, vacuuming and charging a system and trouble shooting, hands on experience with seeing what effects an undercharged system has. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who would like a better understanding of air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Stuart Ginbey is a fantastic instructor. The course really helped my understanding of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. It also clarified subjects where I felt my knowledge was insufficient. I would recommend this course for anyone looking to expand on their knowledge.

Did the e learning for six weeks with five days F-Gas practical in Taunton. E learning structure was well designed and split into user friendly sections with tests after each one. Stuart was always available to help talk through any problems or issues I had on various topics. Five day practical was well set up with my own AC unit to learn on. It has given me a much better understanding of my units on board and will also get Stuart to come on board as he is in now located in Palma. Thanks Stuart!

Absolutely brilliant course (the 5 day refrigeration course) with a very knowledgeable instructor who has the knack for teaching what is normally a dark art subject into something completely manageable and understandable. Have since used the skills learnt on the course at sea in real situations on my vessels refrigeration plants, which is extremely satisfying! Stuart is always quick to help if you have any query’s as well. Cheers Stuart!

I completed the distance learning with tradewinds over a 6 week period before finishing it with the F Gas in Taunton. Having completed a degree in marine engineering I already had a good base in AC and refrigeration but was looking to expand greatly on it. The masterclass had a tonne of appropriate content which i found very useful and this showed in the final assessment. Following this it was great to get into the workshop for some hands on experience in small group & well equipped class room.
