On-board technical support is the best I've ever experienced

This week marks the end of an incredibly busy charter season that’s has given us eighteen weeks of charter activity where we have taken our guests throughout the South of France, Monaco, Italy, Sardinia, Corsica, The Balearics and Southern Spain. We Captains are very quick to complain when we get let down by our suppliers but as we start to think about the things that need doing for the next season I thought it would make a refreshing change to impart a good news story about one of our supplier partners Excelerate Technology.

If you are a busy charter yacht or if you just want to keep your boss happy you can't afford not to talk to Excelerate about their Satellite Broadband and Satellite TV solutions and pricing - they literally made every day easier for me and my crew and my charter guests happier at flexible and affordable prices giving me more for my euro than ever before. I can't be any more direct - what Excelerate promised at the outset worked better than I could have hoped for and I've just had my first charter season ever without a single complaint from our guests about their internet and TV experience anywhere we have cruised. Of course Excelerate do more than Satellite Broadband and Satellite TV so now we are in discussions about giving them even more of our business because their real time remote and on-board technical support is also the best I've ever experienced, it’s like having my own IT department onboard. We plan to use them in other areas so that they can take even more pressure off me and my crew and give my owner and guests a better experience at a more economical price.

A great season with Excelerate

SYM Superyacht Management had been picking up great reports about Excelerate's Satellite Broadband Service and one of our client yachts, the 46-metre Benetti Wild Orchid 1 were looking for a new provider urgently. We put the two together and in no time at all Wild Orchid 1 were up and running and I am happy to report that the yacht, its owners and its crew have had a great season with Excelerate with one less thing for a busy captain or us to worry about.

Amazing service, attitude and support

We were introduced to Excelerate prior to ZOZO, the first new generation Sunseeker 131's being launched to teh world at its 2016 London Boat Show debut, and to be honest, we've never looked back since. Excelerate's satellite broadband service is quite simply the best I've used as long as I've been in yachting, and their service, support and attitude is amazing, nothing is too much trouble and they feel more like a partner than a supplier.

They are also fantastic value and because they also develop and integrate their own solutions, they are always showing us new ideas to make life on board better, safer and more enjoyable. We are already into another seaon with Excelerate with zero regrets.

Attractive, simple and resilient

Late in 2016 we engaged Excelerate to try to overcome some problems we had in our first season with our original TV and VSAT set up. Excelerate took a very consultative approach to listening to our problems concerning not only broadband speeds and costs, but also the problems we were having with line of sight issues which are pretty common on yachts.

The Excelerate team came up with a plan to eradicate line of sight issues and to dramatically increase our broadband speeds at much lower cost. They demonstrated how they could achieve this beforecomitted and I am delighted to say that they worked with us throughout our Winter refit and even helped us in areas that weren't in the remit.

They were mindful of our requirement to preserve the good looks of the yacht and now we have something that looks great and is simple to use. It's shown us how important resilience is because we have already been in situations where last year we would have had periods of zero broadband, internet or TV, and this year their system has overcome those challenges. Even when there has been the odd glitch, everyone from the chairman down to a support engineer has been immediately accessible and able to support us and fix the problem, usually remotely. This is how things should be.

In April 2015 a decision was made to change to Excelerate as our VSat equipment, Internet, and Technical Support provider.

From the start of our relationship with Excelerate right up until the writing of this testimonial, the service provided has been of the highest quality in every way.

The equipment was new at the time of installation and has caused no problems. The connection is reliable, speeds are as good as I have experienced in the VSat era, and the technical support, on the rare occasion it is needed, is quick, concise and immediate.

Excelerate are an innovative company, always looking to improve integrationof equipment and provide fresh thinking for old communicaton issues and create new solutions from the ground up.

I cannot thank David and his team enough for the flawless service and support that has been provided and I intent to continue using Excelerate for these services and others for a long time to come.
