German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen has announced its 80-metre (262-foot) superyacht Excellence.
Formerly known as Project 6505, Excellence emerged from its shed yesterday morning (22nd May).
Winch Design is responsible for the interior and exterior styling of the mammoth superyacht, which it labelled “iconic” and “futuristic”.
The superyacht was commissioned by an experienced owner who desired an ‘extraordinary’ yacht and wanted to create a ‘feeling of openness and connection to the outside world’, according to the studio.
The vessel’s framework is based on the same technical platform as the yard’s 2014 launch Kibo, featuring a 12.6-metre beam and a maximum draught of 3.5 metres. She boasts huge areas of glass across her three upper decks, including a double-height effect that blurs the distinction between the upper deck and panoramic sky lounge.
The yacht will be able to accommodate up to 14 guests with capacity for 23 crew members.
Excellence is scheduled to be delivered in the coming months.
